Hello. Welcome. Greetings. Howdy?

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new travel column, 52Cities. Written by former Food52 editor Marian Bull, the column will celebrate the 52 best food, shopping, and culture destinations in a given city.

What’s even better? You—our beloved Food52 Community members—will help pick the places that make the list. Before each column is written, we’ll ask for your favorite restaurants, bars, boutiques, museums, parks, and neighborhoods in the upcoming city, as well as any anecdotes that explain why those places matter to you.

We’re Coming For Ya, Austin

We’re stopping in Austin first, so let us know what’s worth checking out (there are no wrong answers). We’re looking for the places and stories that brought you happiness in each city—that could be anything from a five star restaurant to a can’t-miss gas station.

To help us craft the best guide ever, leave your recommendations (and anecdotes) for Austin in the comments below. We can’t wait to read them all.

Psst: Stay tuned for the full 52Cities: Austin guide, coming in April.

What are your favorite places to visit in Austin, Texas? Please let us know where and why in the comments below!

What a fabulous choice for your inaugural city!
My husband and I have an underrated favorite spot that deserves your attention. A sweet neighborhood French bistro, Hopfields. Always excellent service, whether you sit in the front communal dining/bar area, or choose a cozy table in one of the back rooms. The food is consistently delicious. You can't go wrong with the regular menu, but the specials always amaze.
Bufalina Pizza is another favorite. Wood fired Napoletana pizza, creative small plates and salads, top notch wine list.
Uchi or Uchiko are a must for sushi. Every bite is remarkable. Be prepared to sell a kidney.
You'll find the best coffee in town at a tiny trailer in East Austin called Desnudo. You'll fall in love with Juan. We all do. Try whatever he suggests.
Roosevelt Room for high end craft cocktails, Nickle City for low brow (although no less crafted).
Have a great visit!!
